YouTube Video Marketing

YouTube is the second-largest search engine and most brands treat it as a video hosting service. The queries people run there are overwhelmingly instructional and comparative, which is commercial intent in a format most competitors ignore.

Double return
One asset, two surfaces.

Why video ranks in two places

A video optimised properly competes on YouTube search and can also appear in Google results, where video carve-outs occupy prominent space for how-to and review queries. One asset, two surfaces, and considerably less competition than the equivalent text query.

Video also compounds unusually well. A well-made instructional video can accumulate views for years, unlike social content with a lifespan measured in days. The economics look poor on day one and reasonable across eighteen months.

What’s included

Search-led video strategy

Identifying which queries in your category have video intent, which is where the return is, rather than producing video because it is a channel.

Channel architecture

Playlists, sections and naming that help both viewers and the recommendation system understand what you cover.

Metadata optimisation

Titles, descriptions, chapters and transcripts — the text layer that determines whether the video is findable at all.

Thumbnail and title testing

The single largest lever on click-through, and the one most often left to whoever exported the file.

Google video visibility

Structuring on-site embedding and markup so videos surface in web results as well as on YouTube.

Retention analysis

Where viewers drop off and what that says about structure, which drives what the next video should look like.

YouTube advertising

Paid placement alongside organic, covered under paid social.

Questions

Do you produce the videos?

We do strategy, metadata, optimisation and analysis. Production we either work alongside your team or refer to a production partner. We would rather refer than pretend to a capability.

How many videos before this works?

Fewer than you would think if they target real search demand. Ten videos answering genuinely searched questions outperform fifty produced without that discipline.

Is YouTube worth it for B2B?

Frequently yes, and it is underused there. Product walkthroughs, technical explainers and comparison content match how B2B buyers actually research.

What about Shorts?

Different mechanic — discovery-driven rather than search-driven, with a short lifespan. Useful for reach, poor for compounding search value. We would not lead with it.

Should the videos live on our site too?

Yes, embedded on relevant pages with correct markup. It helps the page and gives the video a second route to visibility.
